Faulkners are now celebrating 100 years of serving the motorcycle and scooter industry.
The company was established in 1910 by Fred Faulkner in Cardigan Street, Oxford.
In 1934 Bob took over and sold prestigious makes including BSA, TrIumph and Norton.
In the 1950’s Bill joined the firm.
In the late 60’s Bill started selling Japanese models, the most popular being Suzuki and Honda , with such European makes as BMW and Moto Guzzi. The company moved in the 1970’s to larger premises in Walton Street, where Yamaha and others were added. Gordon started in 1976. This made Faulkners the household name for motorcycles in Oxfordshire. Bill ran the business until mid 1980.
In 1983 the company expanded again moving to the Botley Road site stocking over 300 new and used machines. Robert joined the firm in 1985.He is now running the workshop and has expertise in on and off road machines.
In 2001 The fourth generation-Gordon and Robert opened at the front of the premises selling Piaggio, Vespa and Gilera scooters for the commuter market.
In May 2010- 100 years later, Gordon and Robert have moved to the rear of the Botley Road site to reintroduce motorcycles alongside the existing scooters.
